• Beautiful inside and out
  • Very affectionate
  • Playful
  • Calm and gentle

Josephine is a gorgeous big blue cat with striking eyes. We estimate that she’s about 2-3 years old and came to us from the Humane Society with her 4 kittens. The babies have all been adopted and Josephine is waiting for her home. She is an extremely loving and affectionate cat and enjoys snuggling. She’s surprisingly playful for her age and enjoys chasing toys around and a good dose of catnip! She has a calm, gentle temperament when she’s not playing and generally does well around other animals, particularly kittens.

Josephine is a special needs cat with an immune disorder called Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex. This can cause her to develops small lesions and scabs on her skin. The treatment is to stay on a hypoallergenic food (available from any vet or online store with prescription) and occasional low doses of steroids. It’s possible that she may be able to weaned onto a commercially available limited ingredient diet over time. Sadly this easily controlled condition has turned people away from adopting a truly beautiful and loving cat and we’re hoping someone can see the unlimited potential in her and look past her condition.

Apply to Adopt Josephine

Please read this introduction before proceeding with the application. The questions on this adoption application helps us to know if your household is a good match for the cat you are interested in adopting.

You must be at least 20 years of age to adopt a cat from us. However, we will make exceptions if you are 18 or older. Please talk to an adoption counselor first.

If you are adopting a kitten, we require that they be adopted into a home with another companion kitten or adult cat or a cat-friendly dog. Cats/kittens that are bonded pairs must be adopted together.

Completing this form does not guarantee an adoption. We make an effort to match up the best home for our kittens and cats, so please be patient as we review the application. There is also no obligation to you to adopt from us by filling out this application.

Adopters must live within a 75 mile radius of Sioux Falls. However, if the cat/kitten is already spayed/neutered, this requirement is not in force.

Unfixed Kittens:

We will adopt out kittens who are too young to be spayed/neutered but require that you bring the kitten(s) to our veterinarian when they are old enough to be fixed.

Renters

Please note that if you rent, we will need to verify with your apartment manager that you can have a cat. Please let them know we will be calling as that makes it a much quicker conversation for us!

Adoption Fee:

The adoption fee for one kitten/cat is $125 plus state and local tax. This fee includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, distemper (if applicable) and microchip. If you adopt two cats, the second cat is $100 plus tax.

Return Policy

If you end up adopting from us and for any reason the adoption does not turn out to be the best for you, your household, and/or the cat, please contact us. We will take the cat back with no judgement! We truly want to find the best homes for the cat and the best match for our adopters and we recognize sometimes it does not always work out as everyone expects.
