Nonprofit Mission Meow Invests in the Sioux Empire TNR Coalition to Save and Improve the Lives of Cats in Sioux Falls, SD
Sioux Falls, SD (1/15/25) – Sioux Empire TNR Coalition received a $9,300 grant from New Jersey nonprofit Mission Meow in support of their lifesaving work for cats in the Sioux Falls area of South Dakota.
Mission Meow is dedicated to supporting feline-centric nonprofits through a unique funding model. Each month, Mission Meow gathers donations from a diverse range of businesses and awards substantial quarterly grants to deserving organizations committed to the welfare and betterment of cats. Their goal is to amplify the impact of nonprofits that provide care, protection, and advocacy for cats, ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive and expand their vital services.
“Our investment in the Sioux Empire TNR Coalition is part of more than $15,000 in grants recently announced by Mission Meow to empower local cat-centric organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create meaningful change,” said Sally Williams, founder of Mission Meow. “Our unique strategy transforms everyday business into extraordinary support for feline welfare, weaving generosity through the fabric of the community to uplift the lives of cats everywhere.”
“This generous $9,300 investment from Mission Meow significantly improves the lives of countless cats in the Sioux Empire, providing essential equipment for our TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) program to end cat overpopulation and improve the save rate for cats in local shelters and private rescues.” said Mat Tougas, President and Founder.
The Sioux Empire TNR Coalition is dedicated to ending cat overpopulation through TNR, which they recently helped to have approved statewide in 2024 and through the Sioux Falls City Council in December. Working with local veterinarians, private rescues and the Sioux Falls Humane Society, the group is focused on improving cat welfare through TNR, adoption, a spay/neuter program for local residents and cat owner support to reduce surrenders to the shelter.

About Sioux Empire TNR Coalition
Founded in 2022, the mission of SETNR is to foster community welfare and improvement through protecting the quality of lives for feral and free roaming cats. Sioux Empire TNR works with compassionate community volunteers, local government officials, and companion animal rescues to utilize humane population control of unaltered, free-roaming, feral, and/or abandoned domestic cats in our area through education and the use of Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR). We also provide referrals for low or no-cost sterilization surgeries and provide access to a wide range of resources for TNR education and colony management in the Sioux Empire and surrounding areas. Finally we adopt friendly cats and kittens who come to us through TNR and other local resources into loving homes.

The recipients are thoroughly vetted through the application process, and donors know exactly where the funds are being allocated.
